Quotable Quote:

“A line is a dot that went for a walk.”
– Paul Klee

Diana Gonzalez

Prof. Diana Gonzalez is as home on the prairie as she is on an ocean, loves Iowa as much as her native Argentina, indulges herself quite shamelessly in classical music and Italian and German opera, and has been known to place a paint brush delicately to canvas. She teaches Spanish at Northwestern, but most who know her understand there is a shadowy self lurking somewhere beneath that quiet demeanor. After all, she loves the madcap colors of Friedensreich Hundertwasser and whatever is Picasso-ish about Paul Klee. If you figure in her love of languages, you might just consider her feeling right at home at Babel. “Arts enrich life,” she says. “They give the opportunity of perceiving, feeling and expressing in many different ways–they unleash creative forces in us.”
