This July 4th, Orange City Arts is partnering with Siouxland Public Media’s Ode Storytelling of Sioux City and Edem Soul Music of Omaha to celebrate America’s brave veterans and her powerful citizens.
We invite all local veterans and their spouses to come and be honored and thanked for their service as part of the ceremony. Orange City Arts also wishes to invite all recent citizenship recipients to join the festivities and be congratulated on their entrance to the bold, brave, and powerful collection of believers, optimists, adventurers, and patriots that form the fabric of our country. Our vision for the event involves a simultaneous recognition ceremony, wherein veterans will be thanked by new citizens, and new citizens will be congratulated by veterans.
Ode Storytelling will feature local personalities sharing their own personal journeys on the theme of “Belonging,” set against a backdrop of a community art project along the same theme.
Edem Soul’s spiritual music explores inner strength, identity, and what it means to be an American today.
Sharing stories, recognizing shared experiences, and expressing gratitude are some of the best ways to build connections and strengthen community bonds. We believe a healthy community responds better to the pressures of a changing society and is better equipped to handle economic and social challenges.
Special thanks to our sponsors, Siouxland Public Media, Town Square Coffeehouse + Kitchen and AIM Aerospace: Orange City Operations for making this event possible.
