Learn and grow as a young artist with Teaching Artist Breann White! After learning how to use the concepts of Line, Color, Shape, and Texture, students will use the skills they’ve acquired to create completely unique, individual works of art using the materials of their choice. Whether young artists choose to use recycled cardboard to make a “texture” mask or polymer clay to create a “colorful” animal sculpture or watercolors and crayons to create a “line” landscape design, the students’ voice and choice will guide their art-making process. This strategy of teaching art gives students the skills necessary to be successful and helps build confidence in their decision-making process as an artist. It also gives them opportunities to push through problem-solving processes and to be resourceful with their materials. Students will leave each class with an original, completely unique work of art.
