ORANGE CITY, SIOUX CENTER — Orange City Arts and Sioux Center Recreation and Arts announced that 46 local dancers have been selected to participate in The Nutcracker.

The Nutcracker, to be performed by a cast of two dozen dancers from Ballet Quad Cities, is coming to the Unity Christian Knight Center Saturday, December 19. Two performances will be held.
Local youth auditioned September 26, and 46 were chosen to participate in the Ballet Quad Cities’ productions. Dancers from several area towns were selected, including Orange City, Sioux Center, Rock Valley, Hull, Sheldon, Rock Rapids, Hawarden, Ireton, Little Rock and Granville.
Seventeen young dancers will be angels: Mia Kraai, Gretchen Stratman, Kate Zwart, Winni Nice, Karlie Van Schepen, Katelyn Dykstra, Elsie Bartels, Michaela Gray, Samantha Gaul, Kayda Vandenberg, Katelyn Drilling, Brooklyn Van Otterloo, Hannah Culpepper, Hannah Wiltgen, Maggie Kensak, Micah Culpepper and Zach Gaul.
Ten young people will be soldiers in The Nutcracker: Adri Tilstra, Micaela Bulk, Claire Kredit, Aimee Hulstein, Ashley Zwart, Piper Roseland, Claire Haack, Grace Fehlhafer, Kyler Evenson and Makayla Van Beek.
Nine young dancers will be candy canes in the production: Averi Heie, Seraphina Cranson, Chloe VandenBerg, Raegan Snieder, Maggie Verschuure, Abigail Wallinga, Brooklyn Helmers, Jaiden Kooima and Emma Sassman.
Instructors and choreographers of the local youth will be Becky Donahue, Robin Van Es and Robin Suing.
Tickets for The Nutcracker will be reserved seating, and are available at the Orange City Chamber office and the Sioux Center City offices, front desk. Please come in person for the tickets. Pay with cash or check (written to Orange City Arts or Sioux Center Arts).
