The Eighth Annual Artist's Showcase: Orange City Arts’ Regional Exhibition offers an opportunity for artists to exhibit their work April 5-27, 2019 at the Northwestern College DeWitt Theatre Arts Center in Orange City IA. Regional artists (from Iowa or within a 350-mile radius of Orange City, IA) are invited to submit work to the juried exhibition. The exhibition will also be available to view and purchase online at orangecityarts.net.

ELIGIBILITY & MEDIA
This exhibit is open to any artist, college-age and up, from Iowa or within a 350-mile radius of Orange City, Iowa. Artwork must be original in concept, composition and execution, and must have been created in the past three years. Artwork may not have been shown previously in an Orange City Arts exhibit. All 2-D and 3-D media will be considered, and must be ready to hang/present. Sawtooth hangers are not allowed. If you have work that you feel need not be framed, please email Emily Stokes (email@example.com) to request approval. Any selected piece that arrives to the venue without proper hanging hardware will not be displayed in the exhibition.
THEME OF EXHIBITION
No theme is required and all submissions are welcome.
Orange City Arts will exercise all reasonable care in handling and hanging the art, and does have limited insurance coverage. However, Orange City Arts assumes no responsibility for damage or loss to works submitted. Insurance is the responsibility of the exhibiting artist.
Works accepted for exhibition may not be withdrawn prior to the close of the show (9:30 pm, April 27th).
Orange City Arts reserves the right to install the works in any manner deemed necessary for exhibition or security purposes.
SALES & REPRODUCTION
Orange City Arts will finalize any sales of exhibited artwork at a price that is set by the artist. Sales are subject to a 20% commission, so prices should be set accordingly. Works not for sale must be clearly marked "NFS." The Exhibition will also be available to view and purchase online.
The submission of entries presupposes that the right is granted to photograph accepted works for education and publicity purposes. Otherwise, taking photos of the artwork during the exhibit is prohibited.
Entrants are limited to three entries. Sets, e.g., diptych, may be classified as one entry.
There is no entry fee.
We request digital images only. Submissions for jurying must be quality jpg or png images – 200 dpi and no larger than 2 MB.

The image must be a true representation of the work submitted. Orange City Arts reserves the right to reject work accepted which does not conform to the quality represented by the submission.
With each submission, also include artist's name, address, email, phone number and title of work. Under "Description," include medium, size, and date of completion.
A COMPLETED ENTRY CONSISTS OF THE FOLLOWING:
1. jpg or png image.
2. Artist's name, address, email, phone number, & title of work.
3. Under "Description," include medium, size, date of production, & purchase price or NFS.

If you have trouble submitting via the Upload Artwork button above, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Include jpg or png attachments of each entry, filenames formatted: "Artist Last Name - Title of Piece." Include medium, size, date of completion, & purchase price in the body of the email, along with contact info for the artist.
Artists will be notified of acceptance by email by March 28, 2019.
LABELING THE ART
Art accepted for the show is to be labelled on a 3x5-inch paper on the upper left corner, backside of the artwork. Include name of artist, title of work, media and sale price or NFS. If your work is a diptych or triptych, please note whether the pieces are to be displayed horizontally or vertically.
THE VENUE: DEWITT THEATRE ARTS CENTER
The exhibition will be displayed in Northwestern College's DeWitt Theatre Arts Center, a multi-million dollar, state-of-the-art performance facility on campus in Orange City, IA. The exhibition will overlap two productions by the award-winning Northwestern Theatre Department: Michael Frayn's Noises Off! on April 5th and 6th; and a student-written World Premiere Festival on April 26th and 27th. The artists' reception will be held immediately prior to the final performance of the World Premiere Festival.
The artists’ reception will be held Saturday, April 27th from 6:00-7:00 p.m., prior to the production of The World Premiere Festival. All artists are invited to attend. Jurors will comment and announce awards.
COMPLIMENTARY TICKETS, JURORS' CHOICES, CASH PRIZES
All artists accepted for exhibition will be given two complimentary tickets to the Northwestern College Theatre Department Spring 2019 production of their choice. Please reserve complimentary tickets by emailing email@example.com, indicating which performance is preferred. Additional tickets to the Northwestern College Theatre Department productions may be ordered by phoning 712-707-7098 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Noises Off! tickets are $8 adult and $4 student; World Premiere Festival Tickets are free. The production schedule can be found here.
Jurors will select a "Best of Show" with a $150 cash prize and one "Honorable Mention," $60 cash prize, to be announced and awarded at the closing reception on April 27th.
Monday, March 25, 2019: Deadline for submission. All entries must be submitted online.
Thursday, March 28: Acceptance notification emailed to artists.
Wednesday, April 3: 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.: Art must be hand-delivered to DeWitt Theatre Arts Center, Northwestern College, Orange City. Prior arrangements may be made to ship or hand-deliver art to arrive by noon on April 4th to Orange City Arts, 125 Central Ave. SE, Orange City IA 51041. Friday, April 5: Exhibition opens at 9 a.m.
Saturday, April 27: 6:00-7:00 p.m.: Artist reception prior to the production of The World Premiere Festival.
Saturday, April 27, 9:30 p.m.: Exhibition closes. Artists may pick up their artwork beginning at this time.
