ORANGE CITY – Come celebrate the Fourth of July with fun for the whole family! The festivities begin at 3:00pm on Thursday, July 4 at Orange City’s Windmill Park, with a kid’s carnival featuring a bouncy castle, dunk tank, face painting and more.
Bedazzle, costume, and decorate yourself, your bike, and your pets for an old-fashioned parade at 5:00pm. Prizes will be awarded for the most creative, colorful and patriotic outfits.
Also, beginning at 5:00pm, a supper of burgers and hot dogs will be served, for a freewill donation.
The comedy and juggling duo In Capable Hands will provide entertainment for the evening, beginning at 6:00pm.
Husband and wife team Steve Russell and Kobi Shaw met at Clown College run by Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus and have been performing together since 1996. In Capable Hands have shared their special brand of family-friendly comedy on The Tonight Show and Live! with Regis and Kelly as well as at the Lincoln Center and Carolines on Broadway.
Volume One Magazine writes of In Capable Hands, “In a world where entertainers often resort to inappropriate shock value rather than surprise to get laughs, it’s a rare and valuable treat to find entertainers that are able to use their talent and innovation to create clean humor for all ages.”
Onstage Orange City, a series of free shows each Wednesday evening, is sponsored by the Orange City Arts Council. Quatro Composites™ and Van Engelenhoven Agency are sponsoring the Fourth of July festivities, with support from the Orange City Chamber of Commerce and Don’s Food Center.
This week there is no show on Wednesday, just Thursday’s Independence Day event.
Bring lawn chairs or blankets. Rain location is the Orange City town hall.
