Summer classes offered: Graphic Arts, Creative Writing and more

IMG_2025ORANGE CITY – A variety of classes will be offered for adults and children in Orange City this summer, sponsored by the Orange City Arts Council in conjunction with Orange City Parks & Recreation.

For adults and teens, Becca Ortner is teaching “Graphics & Media.” Class members will create a webpage, learn photoshop elements, try iMovie and more.

The class will be held Tuesdays, June 4 to July 9, from 8:00-9:15pm at the computer lab at the Korver Visual Arts Center at Northwestern College.

Virginia Davis is offering a creative writing workshop for grades 4-8, on Mon/Wed/Fri afternoons June 10-21. Budding young writers and imaginative thinkers are invited to develop their talents through this two-week program. “It’s a great way to get creative while improving your skills,” said Davis.

Other classes include theatre classes offered by April Hubbard and Jana Latchaw, ceramics and 3-D art/ sculpture classes taught by Melissa Klootwyk, Pre-K arts & crafts taught by Becca Ortner, and beginning guitar taught by Amy Vanden Hull.

Fees for classes are $15 to $25 for a session of six or more classes. Many classes are filling up quickly, so register soon. After May 28, registrations are assessed a $10 late fee. For more information, click here. Or email ocArts@orangecityiowa,com.
